Understanding XMU+ Remote Telephone Access

To record a message remotely

1. Determine the number of the message you want to record.

2. Remotely access the XMU+. See Working with Remote Telephone Access

Messages on page 90 for more information.

3. When the XMU+ responds Enter Command, press 7.

4. Press the message number (nnn) you want to record, followed by #.

5. When the XMU+ responds with a short beep, record the message.

6. Press # to stop recording.

The XMU+ responds with Message ‘nnn’ recorded.

To play a message remotely

1. Determine the number of the message you want to play.

2. Remotely access the XMU+.

See Working with Remote Telephone Access Messages on page 90 for more

information.

3. When the XMU+ responds Enter Command, press 8.

4. Press the message number (nnn) you want to play, followed by #.

XMU+ plays the message.

5. Press # to stop playing the message.

To delete a message remotely

1. Determine the number of the message you want to delete.

2. Remotely access the XMU+.

See Working with Remote Telephone Access Messages on page 90 for more

information.

3. When the XMU+ responds Enter Command, press 39.

4. Press the message number (nnn) you want to delete, followed by #.

5. The XMU+ will respond with a verbal confirmation ‘done’.

TIP...

To cancel the delete

command, hang up

before you reach
